Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 large very ripe bananas They should have plenty of brown spots.
  • 1/2 cup creamy nut butter Almond, peanut, or cashew butter work well.
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Or cacao powder.

Equipment

  • 1 8x8 inch baking pan
  • 1 Large Mixing Bowl

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8x8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until they are smooth and mostly free of lumps.
  3. Add the nut butter and unsweetened cocoa powder to the mashed bananas. Stir until the batter is fully combined, thick, and glossy.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it into an even layer. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs. Do not overbake.
  5. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before slicing and serving. This helps them set properly.

Notes

Tip 1: For extra indulgence, fold in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips or chopped nuts into the batter before baking.
Tip 2: Ensure you let the brownies cool completely. They will be very soft when they come out of the oven but will firm up into a perfect fudgy texture as they cool.
