Ingredients

  • 2 firm, slightly under-ripe bananas Peeled and sliced 1/8-inch thick
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp melted coconut oil Or neutral oil spray
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt

Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer
  • 1 Mandoline Slicer Optional, but recommended for even slices.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C). Slice the bananas into thin, uniform 1/8-inch rounds. A mandoline slicer is highly recommended for consistency.
  2. In a medium bowl, gently toss the banana slices with lemon juice. Add the melted coconut oil, cinnamon, and salt, and toss again to coat evenly.
  3. Arrange the slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding. Air fry for 12-18 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Transfer the banana chips to a wire rack to cool completely. They will become crispier as they cool.

Notes

Storage: Store cooled banana chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
For Best Results: Use firm bananas that are not yet spotty. This ensures they slice well and crisp up perfectly.
