Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until beef is browned. Drain off excess grease.
- Stir in the ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Without separating the rolls, slice the slab of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom half in the prepared baking dish.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly over the bottom buns. Top with slices of cheddar cheese, then place the top half of the rolls on.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sesame seeds, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, and 1/4 tsp onion powder. Brush evenly over the tops of the rolls.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Don't Separate the Rolls: Keeping the rolls together is key for the pull-apart effect.
Drain the Grease: This is a critical step to avoid soggy bottoms.
Cover First: Covering with foil steams the sliders and melts the cheese perfectly before the tops get too brown.
