Ingredients

  • 32 ounce Frozen French Fries (steak or crinkle-cut recommended)
  • 1 pound Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast, cooked and shredded A rotisserie chicken works well as a shortcut.
  • 8 slices Bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 cups Shredded Colby Jack or Cheddar Cheese
  • 3 Green Onions, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 cup Mayonnaise
  • 0.5 cup Sour Cream or Greek Yogurt
  • 0.25 cup Milk or Buttermilk
  • 1 tsp Dried Dill
  • 1 tsp Dried Parsley
  • 1 tsp Dried Chives
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 0.5 tsp Onion Powder
  • Salt and Black Pepper to taste

Equipment

  • 1 Large Baking Sheet
  • 1 Skillet
  • 1 Mixing Bowl

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or as directed on the french fry package. Spread the fries in a single, even layer on a large baking sheet. Bake until golden brown and crispy.
  2. While fries bake, cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove and crumble. If using uncooked chicken, cook it in the same skillet. If using pre-cooked chicken, shred or dice it.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together all ranch ingredients: mayonnaise, sour cream, milk, dill, parsley, chives, garlic powder, and onion powder. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
  4. Once fries are crispy, remove them from the oven. Sprinkle with half the cheese, then top with the cooked chicken and crumbled bacon. Add the remaining cheese on top.
  5. Return the baking sheet to the oven for 5-7 minutes, until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly. Remove from the oven, drizzle generously with the homemade ranch dressing, and garnish with sliced green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

For the best results, use a block of cheese and shred it yourself for a smoother melt.
Ensure fries are in a single layer to get them extra crispy.
The ranch dressing can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
