Ingredients

For the Crust and Filling
  • 2 8-ounce tubes refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 8-ounce blocks full-fat cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Topping
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch Baking Dish
  • 1 Electric mixer
  • 2 Mixing Bowls

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Unroll one tube of crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the baking dish, pinching the seams together.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until just combined.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the bottom crust.
  5. Unroll the second tube of crescent dough and place it over the filling.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the 1/2 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon.
  7. Brush the top dough with the melted butter and sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the top is golden brown. Cool completely on a wire rack, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours before slicing and serving.

Notes

For the smoothest filling, ensure your cream cheese and egg are at room temperature.
Do not overbake; a slight jiggle in the center is perfect.
Chill the bars thoroughly for clean, beautiful slices.
