Ingredients

  • 2 English cucumbers thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 red onion thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill chopped
  • 1 oz dry ranch seasoning mix one packet
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper or to taste

Equipment

  • 1 Large Bowl
  • 1 Knife or Mandoline Slicer
  • 1 Whisk

Instructions

  1. Wash, dry, and thinly slice the cucumbers. Place them in a large bowl along with the thinly sliced red onion.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the sour cream, mayonnaise, fresh dill, dry ranch seasoning mix, and white vinegar until smooth.
  3. Pour the dressing over the cucumbers and onions. Stir gently until everything is well-coated.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

Notes

For extra crisp cucumbers, salt the slices and let them rest in a colander for 20-30 minutes to draw out excess water. Rinse and pat dry before use.
