Preparation
- Peel the garlic cloves and slice them into very thin, uniform cross-section rounds. Pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
- Add the honey to a small saucepan over low heat. Warm until it is fluid and thin, but do not let it reach a simmer.
- Stir in the garlic slices and red pepper flakes. Continue to heat on low for 10-12 minutes, ensuring the garlic stays white and doesn't brown.
- Remove from heat. Stir in the apple cider vinegar and salt. Let rest for 5 minutes so bubbles can dissipate.
- Pour the viscous mixture into a clean glass jar. Allow to cool completely at room temperature before sealing and refrigerating.
Notes
Keep refrigerated since it contains fresh garlic slices.
