Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic finely minced
  • 2 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese freshly grated
  • 1/2 tsp Salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Dried Oregano

Equipment

  • 1 Small saucepan
  • 1 Whisk

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and olive oil together.
  2. Add the finely minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Do not allow it to brown.
  3. Whisk in the all-purpose flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  4. Slowly pour in the heavy cream, whisking continuously to ensure a smooth, lump-free sauce.
  5. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, whisking often, until it has thickened.
  6. Remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and dried oregano. Stir until the cheese is completely melted. Use immediately as a pizza base.

Notes

Do Not Burn the Garlic: Cook the garlic gently over medium heat only until it smells fragrant. If it browns, it will become bitter.
Storage: Store any leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
