Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced onion and bell pepper and cook for 5-7 minutes, until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more. Remove vegetables from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until fully browned. Drain any excess grease.
- Stir the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper into the cooked beef. Return the sautéed vegetables to the skillet and mix everything together.
- Reduce heat to low. Divide the beef mixture into four piles in the skillet and top each with two slices of provolone cheese. Let it melt for 1-2 minutes.
- While the cheese melts, toast the hoagie rolls. Scoop the cheesy beef mixture into the toasted rolls and serve immediately.
Notes
Toast the Buns: Don't skip this step! Toasting the hoagie rolls prevents them from getting soggy and adds great texture.
Cheese Variations: Feel free to substitute the provolone with Cheez Whiz or white American cheese for a different flavor and texture.
