Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Gently unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Brush the entire surface with the beaten egg.
- Arrange the ham slices in a single layer over the puff pastry, followed by a single layer of cheese slices.
- Fold one half of the puff pastry over the other. Gently press down to seal.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley. Brush this mixture over the top of the puff pastry. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, if using.
- Using a pizza cutter, slice the pastry crosswise into 1-inch wide strips. Place the sticks on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until puffed and deep golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Keep the puff pastry cold for best results; if it gets too warm, chill it in the fridge for 10 minutes.
A pizza cutter makes slicing the sticks much easier and cleaner than a knife.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
