- Wash, dry, and chop all vegetables into uniform, bite-sized pieces to ensure even cooking.
- Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the pan is hot, add the olive oil. It should shimmer.
- Add the sliced carrots to the hot pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the broccoli florets, sliced bell pepper, and red onion to the skillet. Continue to cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Stir in the minced garlic and optional red pepper flakes. Cook for one more minute until fragrant. Remove from heat and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.

Do not overcrowd the pan! If your skillet is not large enough, cook the vegetables in two batches for the best texture.
