Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add the cubed chicken and toss until every piece is evenly coated.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd the pan (work in batches if needed). Cook for 3-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
- Reduce the heat to medium. Add the unsalted butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 1-2 minutes, until it starts to thicken slightly.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Gently toss the chicken in the sauce until every piece is gloriously coated. Garnish with fresh parsley or sesame seeds if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
Don't Skip the Cornstarch: It’s the key ingredient for achieving a light, crispy coating that holds the sauce perfectly.
Ensure Oil is Hot: Make sure your skillet and oil are properly heated before adding the chicken. This ensures a great sear and prevents the chicken from becoming soggy.
Avoid Overcrowding: Cook the chicken in batches if necessary. Giving each piece enough space allows it to brown evenly and develop a delicious crust.
