Ingredients

For the Sausage
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 14 oz smoked sausage (like Kielbasa) sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
For the Honey Garlic Sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
For Garnish (Optional)
  • 2 tablespoons sliced green onions for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds for garnish

Equipment

  • 1 Large Skillet
  • 1 Small mixing bowl

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced sausage in a single layer and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until browned and crispy.
  2. While the sausage cooks, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a small bowl. In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water until a smooth slurry forms.
  3. Pour the honey-soy mixture over the sausage in the skillet and bring to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and continue to cook, stirring constantly, for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze.
  4. Remove from heat. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Don't crowd the pan: Ensure the sausage is in a single layer for the best browning.
Use fresh ingredients: Fresh garlic and ginger provide the most vibrant flavor.
Add some heat: A pinch of red pepper flakes in the sauce adds a nice kick.
