For the Sliders
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked and shredded About 2 cups. Can substitute crispy chicken tenders.
  • 1 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 12 pack Hawaiian sweet rolls or similar slider buns
  • 1 cup shredded iceberg or romaine lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, thinly sliced
  • 6 slices provolone or Swiss cheese Optional
For the Homemade Honey Mustard Sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp lemon juice, fresh
For the Garlic Butter Topping
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley

Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch Baking Dish
  • 2 Mixing Bowls
  • 1 Skillet For cooking bacon

Instructions

  1. Cook chicken breasts and shred or dice. Fry bacon until crispy and crumble. Set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, and lemon juice. Add the shredded chicken and half of the crumbled bacon, stirring to combine.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slab of slider buns in half horizontally. Place the bottom half in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread the chicken mixture evenly over the buns. Top with cheese slices, if using. Place the top half of the buns on top.
  4. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley. Brush mixture over the top of the buns. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  5. Remove from oven. Lift the top slab of buns and layer with shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and the remaining crumbled bacon. Replace the top, slice into individual sliders, and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of smoked paprika to the honey mustard sauce.
To prevent soggy buns, you can lightly toast the bottom slab of rolls for 2-3 minutes before adding the filling.
