Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets about 6 oz each, 1-inch thick
  • 2 tbsp olive oil extra virgin
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill chopped
  • 1/2 lemon thinly sliced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Equipment

  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Parchment paper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with a paper towel and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Drizzle the fillets with olive oil, then season generously with salt and pepper. Sprinkle the minced garlic and lemon zest over the top.
  4. Arrange the lemon slices over the salmon fillets and sprinkle with the chopped fresh dill.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 135-140°F (57-60°C).
  6. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Tip 1: Do not overcook the salmon! Check for doneness at the 12-minute mark. It should be moist and tender.
Tip 2: For extra flavor, squeeze some fresh lemon juice over the salmon just before serving.
