Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 lbs lean ground beef or ground Italian sausage
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup low-carb marinara sauce check for no added sugar
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese divided
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt or to taste
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper or to taste
  • 3 oz pepperoni slices

Instructions
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain the excess grease thoroughly.
  3. Reduce heat to low. Add softened cream cheese, ½ cup mozzarella, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cream cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
  4. Spread the meat mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Top with the remaining 1 ½ cups of mozzarella cheese and arrange the pepperoni slices on top.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until hot and bubbly. Optional: Broil for 1-2 minutes at the end for a crispier top.
  7. Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
