Ingredients

  • 4 6-ounce salmon fillets skin-on or skinless
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper or to taste
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced

Equipment

  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Small Bowl

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, and minced garlic until well combined.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Place them on the prepared baking sheet. Brush lightly with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Spoon or brush half of the maple dijon glaze over the salmon fillets. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  5. In the last 2 minutes of cooking, spoon the remaining glaze over the salmon and switch the oven to broil to caramelize the top. Watch carefully to prevent burning. Serve immediately.

Notes

Tip 1: For easy cleanup, do not skip the parchment paper. The glaze becomes very sticky!
Tip 2: Don't overcook the salmon. Check for doneness at the lower end of the time range. It should still be slightly pink in the center.
