Ingredients

For the Dry Rub
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar packed
  • 1 tbsp Smoked Paprika
  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper freshly ground
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper optional
For the Ribs
  • 3-4 lbs Country Style Pork Ribs boneless
  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce your favorite brand

Equipment

  • 1 Baking Dish 9x13 inch or similar
  • 1 Aluminum foil
  • 1 Mixing Bowl

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Pat the country style ribs dry with paper towels. Generously season all sides of the ribs with the dry rub mixture, pressing it into the meat.
  3. Arrange the seasoned ribs in a single layer in a large baking dish. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours.
  5. Remove the foil from the baking dish and continue to bake for another 30-45 minutes, until the pork is very tender.
  6. Carefully remove the dish from the oven. Set the oven to broil. Brush the ribs with your favorite BBQ sauce. Return the dish to the oven and broil for 3-5 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and caramelized. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the ribs rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Don't Rush the Cook: The key to tender ribs is the low and slow cooking process. Don't be tempted to increase the oven temperature to speed it up.
Check for Tenderness: The ribs are done when they can be easily shredded with a fork.
Sauce Options: Feel free to experiment with different BBQ sauces to change the flavor profile. A spicy, sweet, or smoky sauce would all be delicious.
