Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough store-bought or homemade
  • 1/2 pound hot or sweet Italian sausage casings removed
  • 1.5 cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
  • 4 ounces feta cheese crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey or hot honey, for drizzling
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil chopped, for garnish

Equipment

  • 1 Pizza Stone or Baking Sheet
  • 1 Skillet

Instructions

  1. Place a pizza stone or baking sheet in your oven and preheat to 500°F (260°C). Cook the Italian sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it apart until browned. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Gently stretch the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle on a piece of parchment paper.
  3. Brush the dough with olive oil and sprinkle with minced garlic.
  4. Scatter the mozzarella cheese, cooked sausage crumbles, and crumbled feta cheese over the base.
  5. Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone. Bake for 10-14 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  6. Remove the pizza from the oven. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with red pepper flakes and fresh basil. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

For a crispy crust, make sure your pizza stone is fully preheated before baking.
If you don't have hot honey, you can infuse regular honey with red pepper flakes over low heat for a few minutes.
Don't overload the pizza with toppings, as this can lead to a soggy crust.
