Ingredients

Core Ingredients
  • 4 cups Powdered Sugar Sifted (480g)
  • 3 tbsp Whole Milk Or heavy cream (45ml)
  • 2 tbsp Light Corn Syrup For gloss (30ml)
  • 1 tsp Clear Vanilla Extract (5ml)
  • 1 drop Pink Gel Food Coloring Blush pink
  • 1/8 tsp Fine Salt (0.75g)
  • 2 tbsp White Sugar Pearl Sprinkles For topping

Equipment

  • 1 Sifter To ensure lump-free powdered sugar.
  • 2 Piping Bags For outlining and flooding.
  • 1 Scribe Tool For popping air bubbles.

Instructions

Mixing the Icing
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the sifted powdered sugar and milk until a thick paste forms.
  2. Slowly stir in the light corn syrup, clear vanilla, salt, and pink gel coloring. Mix by hand with a spatula to avoid creating air bubbles until the icing is smooth and glossy.
Decorating the Cookies
  1. Transfer icing to a piping bag. Pipe a border around the heart-shaped cookies, leaving the golden edges visible.
  2. Immediately fill the center of the heart with icing. Use a scribe tool to pop bubbles and smooth the surface.
  3. Wait 60 seconds, then scatter white sugar pearl sprinkles evenly over the wet icing.

Notes

Wait at least 24 hours before stacking cookies to ensure the icing has hardened completely.
If the icing is too thick, add milk 1/2 teaspoon at a time.
